Describe the most useful resource you have found to help you develop your Genius Hour Project.
The resource I have found to be the most useful would have to the internet. When using the internet I do not just have a vast amount of information at my fingertips, I have audio and visuals as well. The audio has been unbelievably helpful. There are just some things in life you cannot accurately describe by just using words and music is one of them. With Youtube and other websites I can now differentiate between all the different styles of jazz soloing.
I am grateful for the internet. I know that the availability of this information would not have been possible just a few decades ago. One of my favorite things about using the internet is reading all the various opinions on tenor sax soloing. Everyone has new advice or tips to offer and I have found their comments to be extremely helpful.

Be honest. How could you use your Genius Hour time more effectively?
Lately I guess I have not been using my time very wisely to work on my Genius Hour Project. I have been quite busy with marching band, but now that marching band is over hopefully I can use my time much more wisely. In some respects I have been using my time wisely. For instance this weekend I practiced the three songs that we are going to play for The Christian Women's Club, but I did not spend that time experimenting with soloing.
Next weekend I plan to set at least two hours for jazz soloing and experimentation. This does not include my regular practice. During this time I will use the special jazz soloing mouthpiece I purchased some time ago. With this mouthpiece I will try out the three and a half reed instead of my regular two and a half. On Friday I will finally find the right soloing scales and I will experiment with rhythms and dynamics too.
